PNG and WebP keep transparency. Save icons at 2–4× to stay sharp on high-resolution screens.

What it is

A converter that turns SVG vector graphics into ordinary images such as PNG. SVG stays sharp at any size, but chat apps, office programs, social networks and many upload forms do not accept it. Pick a scale or a width, save a PNG, and use it anywhere. You can drop a file or paste SVG code, and transparency is kept.

How to use

  1. Choose File and drop an SVG, or choose Paste code and paste markup starting with <svg>.
  2. Under Format, pick PNG, JPG or WebP.
  3. Under Size, pick 1× to 4× or type a width in pixels.
  4. Keep the background transparent or fill it with a color. JPG is always filled.
  5. Check the preview and click Save PNG.

How it works

  • Original size: the root <svg> width and height (px, pt, mm, cm and in converted to CSS pixels); with only one of them the other comes from the viewBox ratio. Percentages are not used as a size.
  • Scaling: width and height are set to the output size, and a viewBox is added from the original size when missing, so the whole drawing scales with it.
  • Drawing: the browser draws the SVG as an image and the result is copied to a canvas. In this mode external files are never loaded and scripts never run (the SVG-as-image security rules).
  • Warnings: external references, text (fonts), foreignObject, scripts and animation are reported up front. Animations are saved at their first frame.
  • Limits: 16,384 px per side, and 16,777,216 pixels on iPhone and iPad; larger outputs are scaled down.

Examples

SVG Setting Result

chart.svg (no size) 2× JPG, white chart.jpg 600×300

FAQ

What scale should I use?

2× suits most web icons and logos; for print or high-resolution screens use 3× or 4×. For an exact size, choose Custom width, such as 1024 px, and the height follows the aspect ratio.

The font changed after converting.

When drawing an SVG as an image, browsers do not fetch font files outside it, so text uses the fonts installed on your device. Convert text to outlines (paths) in Illustrator, Figma or Inkscape first to keep the design.

Part of the image is missing.

Files the SVG refers to elsewhere (images or CSS at another address) are not loaded for security reasons, so those parts stay empty. The tool lists them; embed them in the SVG as data URIs and try again.

What if the SVG has no size?

Without width and height the viewBox size is used, and without both the browser default of 300×150 px. The page shows which basis it used before applying the scale.

Is my SVG sent to a server?

No. Reading and drawing both happen in your browser.
