PSD to JPG Converter — No Photoshop Needed
Saves the composite image of a PSD/PSB as JPG or PNG and lists its layers
Runs in your browser · nothing is uploaded
Drop a PSD file here
Convert one Photoshop PSD or PSB (up to 300 MB) to JPG or PNG. No Photoshop needed, and the file is never uploaded.
JPG cannot store transparency, so those areas are filled with this colour. Pick PNG to keep transparency.
What it does
This tool turns Photoshop working files (PSD, and PSB for very large documents) into JPG or PNG images that open anywhere. Use it to check a design draft when you do not have Photoshop, to send a preview to a phone or a chat, or to look inside an old PSD and see how its layers are organised. Nothing to install and no sign-up.
How to use
- Drop a PSD file or click Choose PSD file.
- The file details (size, colour mode, bit depth, layer count) and a preview appear.
- Under Picture to save, choose the saved composite image or rebuilding from layers. The composite is usually exact.
- Pick JPG or PNG. For JPG you can set the quality and the colour that fills transparent areas.
- Click Save JPG, and check the structure in the layer list below.
How it works
- Composite image: the merged image stored at the end of the PSD (the Image Data section) is read. Photoshop drew it, so effects and adjustments are all included.
- Empty composite detection: if every pixel is the same white or fully transparent and there are layers to draw, the tool switches to rebuilding from layers and says so.
- Rebuilding: visible layers are stacked from the bottom up. A group’s opacity multiplies into its layers. Normal, multiply, screen, overlay, darken, lighten, color dodge, color burn, hard light, soft light, difference, exclusion, hue, saturation, color, luminosity and linear dodge use the browser’s matching blend operation; other modes are drawn as normal, and the number of things left out is shown.
- Bit depth: 16-bit uses the high 8 bits; 32-bit gets the sRGB curve. CMYK and Lab are converted to RGB with a simple formula, so colours can be slightly off.
- Size limit: pictures larger than the browser can handle at once (16,777,216 pixels on iPhone and iPad) are scaled down, keeping the aspect ratio.
- Files are parsed with ag-psd (MIT licence).
Examples
| File | Settings | Result |
|---|---|---|
| poster.psd, 3508×4961, 42 layers | Composite, JPG 92 | poster.jpg, 3508×4961 |
| logo.psd with a transparent background | Composite, PNG | logo.png, transparent |
| banner.psd saved without maximized compatibility | Rebuilt from layers automatically | banner.jpg, with the count of effects left out |

FAQ
Does it look exactly like Photoshop?
With "Saved composite image" it uses the finished image Photoshop stores inside the file, so yes. Rebuilding from layers leaves out adjustment layers, layer effects such as shadows, and masks, so it can differ.
The result is plain white.
When "Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility" is off in Photoshop, the composite stored in the file is empty. The tool detects this and rebuilds the picture from the layers. If you need every effect, turn the option on in Photoshop and save again.
Can I save layers one by one?
Not at the moment. The tool lists each layer's name, type, opacity, blend mode, size and the text of text layers, but does not export individual layers.
Is there a file size limit?
Up to 300 MB per file. Pictures above 200 million pixels (for example 14,000×14,000 px) are refused before reading, because decoding them would run out of memory. Rebuilding from layers decodes every layer and uses a lot of memory, so open large files on a computer.
Is my PSD uploaded?
No. Reading the file and creating the image both happen in your browser.
