Sign PDF — Add Signature or Stamp Image
Place a drawn, typed or uploaded signature or stamp image on PDF pages, in the browser
Runs in your browser · nothing is uploaded
This tool places a picture of your signature or stamp on the page. It is not a cryptographic digital signature (certificate/PKI) and does not prove the document was not changed. For contracts that need legal force, check which signing method the other party requires.

Add one PDF (up to 100 MB). Adding another file replaces the current one. Files never leave your browser.
What it does
When a contract, consent form or approval arrives as a PDF, this tool lets you sign it without printing and scanning. Draw your signature with a mouse or finger, type your name in a handwriting or brush style, or upload an existing signature or stamp image. Move and resize the signature box on the page preview, place it on the pages you need and download the signed PDF as a new file.
How to use
- Drop one PDF on the box or press Choose PDF.
- Choose how to create the signature:
- Draw: draw in the box and press Use this signature.
- Type: enter your name and pick a style; the picture is made right away.
- Signature or stamp image: upload a PNG, JPG or WebP. Keep the white-background option on for photos of paper.
- Set the page number, then drag and resize the signature box on the preview.
- Press Place here (or Place on every page here). Repeat as needed.
- Press Create signed PDF and download the result.
How it works
- Embedding: the picture is converted to PNG (keeping transparency), embedded once and drawn at every placement, so many placements add the size of a single image.
- Units: positions are percentages of the page width and height. The picture keeps its ratio and is kept inside the page (width at least 3%).
- Rotated pages: positions follow the page as it is shown and the signature is drawn upright.
- White removal: pixels whose red, green and blue values are all 225 or more become transparent; slightly darker edge pixels fade out gradually for a smooth outline.
- Uploaded images are scaled to at most 1,600 pixels on the long side.
- Libraries: signature_pad (MIT) for drawing, pdf-lib (MIT) for writing and PDF.js (Apache-2.0) for the preview. Typed signatures use this site’s OFL fonts.
Examples
| Goal | How |
|---|---|
| Sign the signature line on the last page | Draw → last page → move to the line → Place here |
| Stamp the bottom of every page | Stamp image + remove white → Place on every page here |
| Sign with the keyboard only | Type → focus the box → arrows and + / - |
| Three approval boxes | Move and Place here three times |
To lock fields and annotations after signing, use Flatten PDF; to make a signature image only, use Signature Maker.
FAQ
Is this a legally binding digital signature?
This tool places a picture of your signature or stamp on the page. It is not a cryptographic digital signature (certificate or PKI based), so it does not prove who signed or that the document was not changed afterwards. Use it where a signature image is enough, such as internal approvals, and check which signing method the other party requires for contracts that need legal force.
Can I use a stamp I printed on paper?
Yes. Under “Signature or stamp image” upload a photo or scan and keep “Remove the white background” on; the paper white becomes transparent so the stamp sits naturally on the page. A transparent PNG from the stamp maker works as it is.
How do I position the signature?
Drag the signature box on the page preview, or click a spot on the page to move it there. With the keyboard, focus the box, move it with the arrow keys (Shift moves 10%) and resize it with + and -. You can also type percentages in the From the left, From the top and Width fields.
I need to sign several pages.
Change the page number and press “Place here” for each spot; placements collect in a list. “Place on every page here” adds the same spot on all pages. One save at the end applies every placement.
Is my signature stored anywhere?
No. The drawing, uploaded images and the PDF are used only inside this browser, never sent to a server or saved on the device. They are gone when you close the page.
