How to make it

Sign in the box below with a mouse, finger or stylus. Slow strokes come out thicker, fast ones thinner. Using only a keyboard? Choose "Type" above.

Background

A transparent PNG lets you place just the signature on a document or image. White suits places that do not support transparency.

SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size (drawn signatures only).

Empty margins are trimmed and the file is saved at 3× the on-screen size. The signature is made in your browser only and is never stored or sent anywhere.

A signature image is a picture with no identity check (such as a certificate) attached. Before using it on a contract or an official form, check that the other party or office accepts image signatures.

What it is

A tool for making a signature image to put on documents. Draw in the signature box with a mouse, finger or stylus, or type your name and get it in a handwriting-style font. The finished signature is trimmed to its ink and saved as a transparent PNG, ready to drop onto a signature line in a Word document or PDF. A drawn signature can also be saved as SVG, which stays sharp at any size.

How to use

  1. Under How to make it, choose Draw or Type.
  2. To draw, sign in the box. Use Undo stroke for a wrong stroke or Clear to start over.
  3. To type, enter your name and pick a font: handwriting, brush or serif. You can slant it slightly to the right.
  4. Choose a Pen color (black, navy, blue or custom) and the Thickness. Changes apply to strokes already drawn.
  5. Pick a transparent or white Background and click Save PNG (or Save SVG).

How it works

  • Drawing engine: the MIT-licensed signature_pad library, which draws Bézier curves whose width follows the stroke speed.
  • Thickness: the slider value (1–8) sets the thinnest line to 0.4 times and the thickest to 1.25 times that value in pixels.
  • Resolution: the signature is redrawn at 3× the on-screen size, trimmed to the ink, and given a margin of 6% of the longer side (at least 4 px).
  • Fonts: East Sea Dokdo (handwriting), a subset of Nanum Brush Script (brush) and Noto Serif KR (serif), served from this site under the SIL Open Font License. Characters a font lacks use your device font. The fonts cover Latin and Korean letters.
  • SVG: drawn signatures only, with the viewBox cropped to the trimmed area.

Examples

Method Setting Result
Draw black, thickness 2.5, transparent signature.png, margins trimmed
Draw navy, white background signature.svg with a white rectangle behind
Type “Jane Doe” brush, blue signature-Jane-Doe.png

For a company seal or personal stamp image use the stamp maker; to clean up a scanned paper stamp use the stamp background remover (both Korean pages).

FAQ

Can I use the signature on a contract?

A signature image is a picture with no identity check (such as a certificate) attached. It works where image signatures are accepted, such as internal documents or quotes; for contracts and official forms, check first that the other party or office accepts one.

Is the background transparent?

Yes, a transparent PNG is the default, so the signature sits on top of a signature line in Word, Google Docs or a PDF editor without a white box. Switch the background to white for places that do not support transparency.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Sign in the box with a finger or stylus; the page does not scroll while you draw. Slow strokes come out thicker and fast ones thinner, much like a real pen.

Can I make one with only a keyboard?

Choose Type, enter your name and pick a handwriting, brush or serif font. Every setting and the save buttons work with the keyboard.

Is my signature stored anywhere?

No. It exists only in your browser and is not even a file until you click save. Nothing is sent to a server or written to browser storage.
