Document Converter — DOCX, TXT, HTML, PDF
Convert documents into DOCX, TXT, Markdown, HTML or PDF
Runs in your browser · nothing is uploaded
Files stay in your browser. External images, links and styles are never loaded; scripts never run.
DOCX to PDF/HTML preserves photos, tables, formatting and page breaks where possible. Browser fonts and Word pagination can differ. DOCX to DOCX saves the original file unchanged. PDF to DOCX offers original appearance or editable text. OCR, legacy DOC and HWP/HWPX are unsupported.

Convert document files
Move text and basic document structure between common formats. Turn a DOCX report into Markdown, build a DOCX from a plain text note, or create a shareable PDF from HTML. DOCX photos, table formatting and page breaks can be retained in PDF and HTML. Conversion runs in your browser.
How to use
- Choose a file or drop one onto the file area.
- Review the content preview and any warnings about omitted elements.
- Choose an output format and press Convert document.
- Download and review the result. Changing the input or format clears the previous output.
Conversion rules
- DOCX → DOCX returns the original validated file unchanged, including all original media and formatting. Other inputs rebuild basic headings, paragraphs, lists and tables. PDF offers original appearance (noneditable page images) or editable text.
- TXT removes formatting. Table cells use tabs; rows use line breaks.
- Markdown represents headings, emphasis, lists, code and tables as text syntax. The first table row becomes its header.
- HTML from DOCX preserves rendered page structure, supported embedded PNG/JPEG/GIF/WebP images and formatting. Other HTML inputs keep safe inline styles, tables and embedded raster images. External resources, SVG and executable elements are removed.
- PDF from DOCX/HTML captures rendered pages as images, preserving visible photos, tables and formatting. This PDF has no selectable or searchable text. Other inputs create searchable A4 text and report unsupported characters.
PDF-to-DOCX defaults to original appearance. Choose editable text if editing matters more than layout; scanned pages have no editable text. Limits include 100 pages and bounded image pixels to protect browser memory. PDF export can show different wrapping or pagination from Word; complex floating shapes, charts and equations may be simplified or omitted.
Example
A report converted from DOCX to Markdown keeps basic headings and lists for editing in a text editor. A TXT note containing 안녕하세요 中文 😀 keeps its Unicode text when converted to HTML or DOCX. PDF may omit unsupported Chinese characters and emoji and will list them after conversion.
FAQ
Which document formats are supported?
Inputs are DOCX, UTF-8 TXT, Markdown (.md or .markdown), HTML (.html or .htm) and text-based PDF. Outputs are DOCX, TXT, Markdown, HTML and PDF. PDF input can produce all outputs except PDF. Legacy DOC and HWP/HWPX files are unsupported.
Does it preserve the original Word layout?
DOCX to PDF and HTML retain embedded raster photos, tables, formatting, headers and page breaks where supported. Browser fonts and Word pagination can differ, so review the preview. DOCX to DOCX returns the original bytes unchanged. PDF to DOCX can preserve each page as an image or rebuild editable text. Comments, macros, embedded SVG and external resources are not rendered.
Are files uploaded?
Files are processed in your browser. Uploaded document resources are never fetched and scripts never run. Creating a PDF with non-Latin text may download a font from this site.
What happens to Korean, Chinese and emoji?
TXT, Markdown, HTML and DOCX preserve Unicode text. DOCX/HTML to PDF captures browser-rendered pages, including the fonts available on your device. TXT/Markdown to PDF uses this site's Korean font; unsupported characters are listed in a warning.
What are the size and encoding limits?
Files must be at most 5 MB and text at most 200,000 characters. PDF input supports up to 100 pages. Expanded DOCX content is limited to 20 MB and 2,000 entries. Encrypted, ZIP64 and damaged documents are rejected. Text inputs must use UTF-8.
Can I turn a PDF into Word?
Yes. Original appearance embeds each PDF page as an image in DOCX, retaining photos, tables and page dimensions, including scanned pages. Text in this mode cannot be edited. Editable text rebuilds extractable text into a simple DOCX; tables, photos and layout are not restored. No OCR is provided.
