QR Code Generator — URL, Wi-Fi, vCard, Logo

Create URL, Wi-Fi and contact QR codes and download them as PNG or SVG

Runs in your browser · nothing is uploaded

If the address has no http:// or https://, https:// is added.

What the code contains

The QR code stores exactly this string. Scanners will read it back as-is.

Options

Adjusted to between 128 and 2048.

0 to 10, default 4. Scanners work best with a quiet zone.

Error correction

The image never leaves your browser. It is drawn centered, and the logo plus its background padding clear at most about 22% of the code width. SVG downloads include it as a data URI.

Enter some content and the QR code appears here.

What is a QR code generator?

It turns what you type into a QR code image. Besides website addresses you can encode Wi-Fi login details, a contact card (vCard), an email, a text message or a phone number. Text is stored as UTF-8, so Korean, Chinese and emoji survive. The box below the form shows the exact string that goes into the code, so you can see what a scanner will read.

How to use

  1. Pick a type at the top: URL, Text, Wi-Fi and so on.
  2. Fill in the fields; the preview updates as you type.
  3. Adjust size, margin, error correction, colors or a center logo if you need to.
  4. Press Download PNG or Download SVG. Files are named by type, such as qr-wifi.png.

A Wi-Fi code lets someone join your network by pointing a phone camera at it. Enter the network name and password exactly, and choose the same security type as your router.

How it works

  • Wi-Fi uses the ZXing Wi-Fi format, WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;;. The characters \, ;, ,, : and " are escaped with a backslash, and open networks leave the password out.
  • Contacts are vCard 3.0 with CRLF line endings; commas, semicolons and line breaks are escaped.
  • Email uses mailto:, SMS uses SMSTO: and phone uses tel:. Subject and body are percent-encoded.
  • Error correction levels L, M, Q and H can recover from roughly 7%, 15%, 25% and 30% damaged code.
  • As a general guide, print a code at least 2 to 3 cm wide with a margin of 4 modules or more. The right size depends on scanning distance and the scanner, so test with a real phone.
  • A logo is drawn centered; the logo plus its background padding clear at most about 22% of the code width. SVG downloads include it as a data URI.

FAQ

My QR code will not scan. What should I check?

Start with color contrast. Dark modules on a light background are safest, and some scanners cannot read a code that is lighter than its background. Then make sure the margin (quiet zone) was not set to zero and the printed code is not shrunk too small. Long content makes the pattern denser, so a shorter URL helps too.

Which error correction level should I pick?

The default, M (about 15%), is enough for screens and clean prints. Pick Q or H if the code will be stuck on a rough surface or may get scuffed. Higher levels add more modules for the same content. When you add a center logo the level is locked to H (about 30%).

Is my content or the generated code stored on a server?

No. The code is generated in your browser, and the Wi-Fi password, contact details or logo image you enter are never uploaded.

Does a QR code expire?

Not this one. The tool simply turns your text into modules, so there is nothing to expire. A URL code stops being useful if the page behind it disappears, so make sure the address will stay online before you print.
