Rotate PDF — Turn or Mirror PDF Pages

Browser tool that rotates all or selected PDF pages and mirrors them horizontally or vertically

Runs in your browser · nothing is uploaded

Drop the PDF to rotate here

Add one PDF (up to 100 MB). Adding another file replaces the current one. Files never leave your browser.

What it does

It sets sideways or upside-down pages straight. You can turn every page at once, or only odd pages, even pages or the pages you list. Horizontal and vertical mirroring are available too. Before you save, a preview of the first affected page shows how it will look, so you can check the direction. Everything runs in your browser.

How to use

  1. Drop one PDF on the dashed area or press Choose PDF.
  2. Under Pages to change, choose all, odd, even or Custom. For Custom, type something like 2, 5-7.
  3. Under Rotate, pick 90° clockwise, 180°, 90° counter-clockwise or no rotation.
  4. Optionally pick Flip horizontally or Flip vertically under Mirror.
  5. Check the preview, press Apply and save and download the file.

How it works

  • Rotation: the chosen angle is added to each page’s rotation value (/Rotate). A page already turned by 90° becomes 180° after another 90° clockwise. Nothing is redrawn, so there is no quality loss.
  • Mirroring: a mirror transform through the centre of the visible area (the crop box) is placed around the page’s existing content. On pages that are already rotated, left-right and top-bottom follow what you see on screen. Annotations such as links and form fields are not mirrored.
  • Order: with both options, the page is mirrored first, then rotated. The preview uses the same order.
  • What is kept: the original document is edited and saved, so bookmarks, document properties, links and form fields remain.
  • Limits: files up to 100 MB. PDFs that need a password to open, or that carry editing restrictions, cannot be changed.
  • Libraries: pdf-lib (MIT) writes the file and PDF.js (Apache-2.0) draws the previews.

Examples

Goal Setting
Straighten a scan that came out sideways All pages, 90° clockwise (or counter-clockwise)
Backs of a duplex scan are upside down Even pages, 180°
Make pages 3 and 7–9 landscape Custom 3, 7-9, 90° clockwise
Reversed artwork for transfer paper All pages, no rotation, flip horizontally

To reorder or delete pages as well, use Organize PDF. To cut two-page spreads into single pages, use Split PDF Pages in Half.

FAQ

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Rotating happens in your browser only and the file is never uploaded. The result is not stored anywhere until you download it.

Does rotating lower the quality?

No. Pages are not redrawn; only the rotation value each page carries ("show this page turned by n degrees") changes. Text stays text that can be selected and searched, and bookmarks, links and form fields are kept.

Can I rotate only some pages?

Yes. Choose odd pages, even pages, or Custom and type ranges like 1-3, 5, 8-. If the backs of a duplex scan came out upside down, pick even pages and 180°.

When would I mirror a page?

For a document that was scanned mirrored, or for artwork that has to be printed reversed, such as iron-on transfers or window film. Mirroring follows the page as you see it on screen; if you also pick a rotation, the page is mirrored first and then turned.

What happens to links and form fields on mirrored pages?

Mirroring wraps the page content in a mirror transform, so text and pictures flip, but annotations such as links, notes and form fields stay where they were and may no longer line up with the content. When you only rotate, annotations turn with the page.
