One square. One small certainty.
Slow down, look closely, and let the numbers fit.
Number entry
How to play
Place 1–9 once in each row, column, and 3×3 box. Select a cell and use number buttons or keys 1–9. Arrow keys move, Backspace/Delete erase, and N toggles notes.
Notes hold candidate numbers. Check conflicts finds duplicates; it does not check against the solution. A hint fills an empty or incorrect selected cell with the solution.
Levels describe clue counts, not certified solving difficulty. Puzzles transform a verified unique template. Refreshing clears your game.A quiet puzzle for a spare moment
Fill a 9×9 grid so every row, column and outlined 3×3 box contains each number from 1 to 9 exactly once. Given numbers stay fixed. Work through the remaining squares at your own pace, directly in the browser without an account.
How to play
- Select a square and use the number buttons or keyboard keys 1–9.
- Use arrow keys to move between squares. Delete or Backspace clears an editable square.
- Turn Notes on, or press N while a square is focused, to record candidate digits. Entering a candidate again removes it.
- Use Check conflicts to highlight duplicates, or Solution hint to fill one correct answer.
- Choose a clue count and press New puzzle to apply it. Reset puzzle clears your entries and notes but retains the same givens.
Example and completion rules
If a row already contains 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, its remaining square must contain 9. Check its column and box as well when resolving less obvious squares. Candidate notes are manual; filling another cell does not automatically remove them.
A hint corrects the selected empty or incorrect editable square. If the selected square cannot use a hint, the first remaining empty or incorrect square is filled instead. The game counts hints and labels completion as assisted or unassisted. It declares a win only when the full grid satisfies all Sudoku constraints.
Easy, Medium and Hard supply 48, 40 and 30 given clues. The puzzles share a transformed template, so visual differences do not promise entirely new logical structures or professionally graded difficulty. Progress is not saved after a refresh.
FAQ
Does each puzzle have one solution?
Yes. Puzzles use a verified unique template, transformed by digit relabeling, valid row and column permutations, and transposition. Added clues come from its solution.
What do Easy, Medium and Hard mean?
They set the number of given clues to 48, 40 or 30. These are clue-density labels, not certified ratings of logical difficulty.
Does Check conflicts tell me whether every entry is correct?
No. It flags duplicate values in rows, columns and boxes. A number can be incorrect even if it has no duplicate yet. Solution hints use the verified answer.
Can I save my puzzle?
No. The current puzzle and notes stay in page memory. Reset puzzle keeps the same givens, while New puzzle generates a transformed puzzle. Refreshing starts over.
